Phase One — Information Gathering
Gathering information is the first step in designing a successful web site. There are many things that need to be considered when designing the look and feel of your site, as a result we first ask questions that will help us understand your business and website needs.
Things for consideration are:
Purpose
What is the basic purpose of your site? Are you providing information, promoting a service, selling a product?
Goals
By building this website, what do you hope to achieve? Sharing information and making money are usually two common goals.
Target Audience
In order to reach your goals, is there a specific group of people your website should target? Picturing the "ideal" person you want to visit your web site is usually very helpful. Considering the age, gender or interests of your target audience will help us design the appropriate style for your site.
Content
Will the target audience go to your site looking for specific types of information? Is there a particular product or service they should find?
Phase Two — Planning
After gathering the information in phase one, we begin planning your website and Search Engine Optimization research..
A site map, which is a list of all the main areas of the site, is developed, as well as any applicable sub topics. This step is essential to developing an efficient, navigation system that is consistent and easy to understand. We also make decisions on the types of technologies that should be implemented at this stage such as Content Management Systems, interactive forms, etc.
Phase Three — Design
The look and feel of the site is determined by drawing from the information gathered up to this point. One of the key factors considered here is the target audience. At site built for an official business corporation, for example, will look very different than one aimed at teenagers. The company logo and colors are also incorporated into the design to further enhance the identity of the web site.
Once we’ve designed a prototype, you are given access to the Client Link, which is a secure area of our web site. The Client Link is a URL address that allows you to view your project throughout the design and development stages. Most importantly, its gives you the opportunity to voice your opinions on the site design.
In this phase, communication is crucial to ensure that the final web site will match your needs and taste. We work together in this way, exchanging ideas, until we arrive at the final design for the site. Then development can begin…
Communication is crucial at this stage, as it ensures that the final web site will match your specific goals.
Phase Four — Development
At this stage the web site itself is created. Individual graphic elements from the prototype are used to create a fully functional website. The content you provide is also distributed throughout the site, in the respective locations.
Throughout this phase you can continue to make suggestions as well as request changes or corrections by viewing your web site in the Client Link.
Phase Five — Testing and Delivery
Once we receive your final approval, we upload the files to the web server and install and configure any additional plug-ins needed to enhance the official site. We submit the site to the major search engines and finalize the Search Engine Optimization procedures. Final tests are performed to confirm the full functionality of the site. This marks the official launch of your site, as it is now viewable to the public.
Attention to final details and testing of your web site is performed in this phase. We test the site to ensure that all the scripts and forms are working well, double checking its performance and consistency in all the major web browsers.
Phase Six — Maintenance
Now that your site is live and available to the public, it makes good sense to bring repeat visitors to the site by offering new content or products on a regular basis. If this interests you we will be happy to continue working with you to update the information on your website. Maintenance packages are available at reduced rates, based on the number of anticipated changes or additions to the site per month.
